Day Four...

Today was an incredible day for these boys! CH shot his first ever 68 in a tournament, CB shot a 72, and WH and CM shot an 80. I believe that we are in 2ND or 3rd place at this point, since we shaved off 13 strokes from yesterday's 4Th place round. CH was the lowest score today! The final round is tomorrow with the trophy presentation to follow. But first, we have our glow-in-the-dark 6-hole match tonight at 9pm, and the boys are super excited about that. After our final round tomorrow, the boys have opted for the beach. They are having a great time! I have never seen these guys play this well since I have been coaching them. It is exciting to be a part of their history.

Day Three...

The boys played great today!! CH shot a 78, WH shot a 75, CM shot an 82, and CB shot an 80. They started off a bit sluggish today and reminded me that they were actually tired. I told them that they were only playing 18 holes today instead of the usual 36 holes per day. :-) We have a leisure afternoon with the boys watching the World Cup and Wimbledon, with perhaps a little field trip to the bowling alley later on this afternoon. I believe that they will be turning in early again tonight. Tomorrow is the 2ND round on the Ryder Course, and with an 8 am shotgun again. They will be charged and ready to go.

Day Two...

We had a great day in the Coach's Cup today. Our team shot a 58 and we came in 6Th place. The team to beat, shot a 54 today. Our boys played great, and I believe that they are going to play very well in the 54 hole tournament beginning tomorrow. We had a couple of eagles and many birdies today, and some of the boys drove the ball incredibly well today. We even played through a rain storm that came through, but we got finished just as the thunder was rolling in. We had lunch, and the boys are back out on the golf course to get ready for their first round. We have a barbecue at the club tonight, and then an 8 am shotgun starting tomorrow. Today was a great day!

Day One..

We had a bit of trouble with the Internet at the condo, so I am a bit behind with updates. We had a great day today. I played with two other coaches from Gainsville, FL in a team match today, and the boys had a successful day at the skills challenges. Cole finished 1st in the putting contest, 2ND in the sand bunker contest, and 5Th in the long drive contest. Cody finished 4Th in the sand bunker contest, and 3rd in the long drive contest. Will and Bradford made it to the long drive playoffs. They had such a great morning, that they decided to play 18 holes this afternoon on the Ryder Course, which is a Dye course. They played extremely well, by shooting under par. They are geared up for our Captains Cup tomorrow, where I will be playing a scramble with the boys. The weather is nice and humid here, and I think the temperature was 97 again today. An evening storm is rolling in. It was a long, but exciting day for the golfers.

Three days to go....

We are getting ready to travel to Florida for The National Junior Travel Team Tournament. This is Parish's first ever summer golf team competition. We are headed to Port St. Lucie, and the boys will start competition on Monday, with me, in a team scramble. We will play against 40 other schools for the Coaches Challenge. Then, they begin their individual rounds on Tuesday. They will compete in a 54-hole stroke play tournament.

Six Days and Counting...

Four of our Varsity Golfers are headed to compete in the National Junior Travel Team Tournament located at the PGA Golf Club in Port Lucie, Florida. This is an invitational tournament and 40 schools around the world have been invited to play in this event. However, before Saturday rolls around, I have the Women's Texas State Open to play in this week. I will keep you posted on this week's tournament and I will blog and tweet during our trip.
